CMH have handled paper in two forms, one being a pulp and the other as RDF from paper lights.
A new feed system for pulped paper was installed at Shotton Paper on Deeside and as part of this CMH were contracted to supply a buffer hopper and metering feeder for a closed loop belt conveying system. This took the form of a 4 shafted, variable pitch, multi discharge feeder with a negative angle hopper mounted on top. As the pulp had a high moisture content, the whole assembly was manufactured from stainless steel.
As part of the Neath Port Talbot Recycling plant, paper lights were separated from other waste streams and collected together for pelleting for use as RDF in the on-site EfW incinerator as one source of fuel. The lights were collected in a small negative angled hopper before being distributed to 3 pelleting presses. From here the pellets were conveyed via a side wall conveyor elevator and onto a distribution conveyor running along the fuel store wall. Intermediate ploughs and level sensing devices ensures a spread of material in the store. Our involvement was the design, supply and installation of the whole pelleting and distribution section of plant as a stand-alone system within the Recycling plant and was the second section supplied as we also supplied the intake recycling station for MSW.
