The Centreless Screw Conveyor represents a relatively new idea in material handling. The material is conveyed by a heavy duty screw flighting without centre tube which runs in a special wear resistant 'U' trough lining.

Centreless Screw Conveyors have been especially designed to convey difficult and heterogeneous materials such as:

• Solid waste.
• Floating screened waste.
• Dehydrated, thickened, conditioned sludge.
• Sewage sludge
• Creamy substances or pastes.
• By-products (meat, fish, fruit, vegetables).

The use of flighting without a centre tube offers the possibility of higher throughput rates, of conveying materials which tend to get entangled, or which tend to jam, as well as those products with varying particle size. Its material of construction, its thickness and the special fabrication procedure give the spiral high wear resistance and long life.

The casing section is of 'U' trough design, Manufactured from either, Mild Steel, Stainless Steel (304 or 316), Cromweld or tailor made to your requirements. The trough section has covers making it totally enclosed to eliminate the problems of dust and odours.

The centreless screw conveyor has no intermediate bearing to eliminate the risk of clogging when feeding damp, sticky and fibrous materials. As the flighting travels in the liner there is also no need for a tail-end bearing.

Replaceable Liners
The liners are manufactured from Tivar 1000 8mm Virgin grade UHMPE, but other types can be used if required.
