From its earliest introduction as a fuel in the UK, CMH have been involved with Biomass handling & storage systems working on power stations such as Kingsnorth on the Thames & Ironbridge at Bridgenorth. At this time Biomass was a very varied product ranging from wood pellets to Coconut husk.
Systems comprised a lorry tipping intake bunker feeding a bulk silo via a bucket elevator and screw conveyor.
Biomass was extracted from the silo using a large diameter bin activator and a variable speed metering screw regulating the feed onto a belt conveyor which contained a weigh roller assembly. Subsequent systems used ground level walking floor intake bunkers to reduce the civil and conveying costs.
